Sheffield Wednesday have completed a deal to bring 20-year-old striker Andelko Savic to Hillsborough on a season long loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.

Savic is of Serbian descent but has represented Switzerland at Under 16, Under 17 and Under 21 international levels. His youth career began in earnest at FC Basel and he went on to join the renowned Italian side Sampdoria in 2011. Savic made his senior debut in Serie A in January of this year.

Owls manager Dave Jones has been impressed with what he has seen from the youngster in his short time training with the club to date but despite the Owls current lack of goals from strikers it is unlikely he will be thrown straight into the side and is more likely to be given time to develop and settle in within the Wednesday set up.
