Sheffield Wednesday will complete their preparations for the 2008/09 Championship season with a home game against Premier League outfit Wigan on Saturday August 2nd.

Wednesday last met the Latics at Hillsborough in 1975, when the hosts won 2-0 in the F.A. Cup while the two teams have never crossed paths in the league at any level.

The Owls kick-off their pre-season fixtures with two games in a short tour of Holland. They play HFC Haarlem on Tuesday the 15th July and then face Stormvogels Telstar two days later.

This is followed by away games against Stocksbridge on the 23rd and Bury on the 26th. The Owls travel to Chesterfield on the 29th and are likely to field a youthful team at Sheffield FC the following day.
