Owls Vs Royals: Team news

Sheffield Wednesday host title chasing Reading at Hillsborough on Tuesday and they will certainly be aiming to do much better than they did at the Madejski Stadium back in September when they were on the end of an embarrassing 6-0 reverse.

After a fine 4-2 win against Burnley at the weekend it would be a surprise if Wednesday were to change a winning eleven. Should this be the case then Captain Richard Wood would once again have to settle for a place on the bench.

Talismanic striker Akpo Sodje is working his way back to fitness and is on course to claim a place on the bench sometime in the near future but is not expected to feature.

The visitors have no new injury or suspension concerns but manager Steve Coppell could make changes following a poor display at home to Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Jay Tabb is in contention to make his first start for the Royals while Andre Bikey and Shane Long may be in line for recalls to the squad.

Wednesday's inconsistent form has continued of late. Having won the Sheffield derby they followed that up with successive South Yorkshire derby defeats to Doncaster and Barnsley and have since beat Crystal Palace and Burnley

Reading went into the New Year in free scoring form but have struggling for goals of late. Since beating Watford 4-0 in January they have scored just one goal in six games, three of which have ended in defeat.

The two sides have only met four times in competitive matches at Hillsborough with Wednesday yet to suffer a defeat having won two and drawn two.
