Owls wait on Bully verdict

The Owls drew 0-0 at Preston on Saturday but a decent point was soured after the Scotsman was given a straight red card for a late challenge.

Referee Peter Walton has agreed to look at the incident again on video and the three-game ban a straight red card brings could be chalked off.

But Paul Sturrock will not know if his influential utility man will be available until only a few hours before the clash with The Hatters after a Football League panel have looked at the incident after Wednesday launched an appeal.

The challenge in question was no doubt a bit late and perhaps did warrant a yellow card but a red card not only baffled Wednesday's players but Preston's as well.
