Following a steady flow of arrivals at Hillsborough in recent weeks Dave Jones has allowed one of his players to go out on loan with Liam Palmer joining League One side Tranmere Rovers.

Palmer has agreed a deal which will see him stay at Prenton Park until January and will hope to get plenty of 1st team opportunities for Ronnie Moore’s team. The 20-year-old midfielder featured 20 times last season during the Owls promotion campaign but may of these were as a substitute and it is hoped that this move will see him start more games and gain vital experience.

The youngster has been a regular fixture in the Scotland under 21’s squad over the past year and Wednesday will be keen to keep hold of him if his development continues over the 1st half of the coming season at Tranmere.
