The Bristol City marksman, who has scored consistently for four years now at this level, will be Wednesday's penultimate big signing.

Turner says it is only a matter of ironing out personal details before the Scotsman signs.

Footymad alerted fans of Wednesday's interest a few weeks ago although Turner still has his eyes on another striker, and it could be one from Luton' Steve Howard, Stockport's Luke Beckett, Rangers' Steve MacLean and Blackpool's Scott Taylor.

The Owls boss would still prefer Taylor or Howard to join the ranks and has upped his offer for the burley Hatters targetman, although sources close to the Hillsborough club state that a deal with Blackpool is also nearing completion.

Matt Hamshaw and Richard Evans will return to pre-season training in a bid to get extended deals at Wednesday.

Turner said that the wing duo have to prove their fitness after missing the whole of last season with knee injuries before getting anything on the table.
