Paul Sturrock must be relieved after finally getting some cover into his squad after injury worries have plagued his plans recently.

Bischoff, a former Danish Under-21 international has had football league experience with Wolves after spending two months there following his transfer from AB Copenhagen in 2002.

The defender is 6ft 3in and will surely be a presence tomorrow if he plays, and could come up against fellow countryman Marc Nygaard.

Carson meanwhile is a real coop - the former Leeds goalkeeper is currently the England Under-21 first choice stopper and has experience at the very highest level, including the Champions League.

The 20-year-old has found it difficult to break into the team at Anfield but despite his young age, he comes highly rated.

Both signings have been funded by chairman Dave Allen and are expected to play tomorrow.

Steve MacLean could make the bench after missing the Cardiff game with a toe problem.
