Pressman: Maybe the manager's not the problem

Yorath has come in for heavy criticism recently with Wednesday winning just one league game this season - but veteran keeper Pressman feels the players should shoulder part of the blame.

"The buck always stops with the manager but as players we have to look at ourselves," said the Owls keeper.

"We have had so many managers in the past few years that you have to say that maybe the manager's not the problem.

"You've got to start looking at players and naming players. Surely now it's time for us to ask ourselves if we are doing as much as we can for the club. Right now you have to say that the answer is no.

"We all want the same thing and that's to win games and for things to get better. We have to stick together and work hard and make sure we can put things right.

"We are not doing it as a team and we should be worried about keeping our places. Those who can't do it should be replaced by those who can. Personal pride is at stake.

"The spirit is there and we need that, but we are lacking that bit of clinical finishing we need and at the moment we can't find a way out of it," he told a local newspaper.
