Sheffield Wednesday defender Darren Purse's solid display against Coventry city at the weekend has been recognised by the Press Association.
Each week the Press Association pick their Coca Cola Championship team of the week for the official football league website and thanks to his opening goal and solid all round display in Wednesday's 2-0 victory Purse was chosen as part of last weekends best back four.
The centre-back has struggled for form of late and it was thought that his place in the side was likely to come under threat due to some costly errors and so the clean sheet was vitally important for him and the team and his first Owls goal was a handy bonus.
Wednesday fans will be hoping that this marks a return to a more consistent level of performance as the owls look to mount a challenge in the top half of the Championship table.
