QPR sign defender

Queens Park Rangers have today signed Damien Delaney from Coca-Cola Championship rivals Hull City. Delaney has made over 200 appearances for the Tigers and joins the West London club on a three-and-a-half year deal.

The player had become a fixture in the Hull side and centre-back although he has also played at left-back during his career.

It remains to be seen as to whether QPR shifted their attentions to Delaney having been knocked back by Wednesday in their bids to prise Tommy Spurr away from Hillsborough. The two do seem to be very similar in that they both have versatility in terms of their ability to play at full-back or centre-back. It is however no secret that QPR are not short of spending power at this level at the moment so it may be premature to totally rule out a further approach for Spurr just yet.
