Quartet set to leave Owls

The bold move by the Scot is to get some players out during the transfer window, perhaps commanding a fee for them so he can bring in new blood.

Heckingbottom and Peacock are both out of contract in the summer and can look for new clubs as their deals will not be renewed but they will still be kept at integral parts of the squad.

Lee and Rocastle are both under contract until 2007 but they have been told they can start to look for new teams in the future.

With this news, it looks as if Sturrock is set to keep left-back Peter Gilbert on while he looks for more cover throughout the spine of the team.

Richard Evans is also set to leave the club - the former Birmingham City left-winger has been blighted with knee injuries and has not played under Sturrock.

Patrick Collins who has returned from a loan spell at struggling league one side Swindon has been told he will be tried out in a few new positions, perhaps a more offensive role.

As far as team news goes for Burnley tomorrow, Peacock should play some part in the game while recalled striker Danny Reet could make the bench.

May I take this opportunity to wish all Wednesdayites a happy new year.
