Quintet sign, fee agreed & target wants out!

Last season’s leading second division marksman Taylor has told the Tangerines in writing he wants to leave Bloomfield Road, citing family
reasons for his imminent departure although Chris Turner still has not given up all hope of signing the star.

Blackpool’s chairman Karl Oysten has said that the hitman will not be joining Wednesday as he seeks a move down south, although nothing has been ruled out at this stage by the club or media – this side of the Pennines anyhow.

Rangers, who yesterday agreed a deal with Bristol City for MacLean, have now settled a financial deal with The Owls for the player who was the top scorer in the third division for Scunthorpe - where he was on loan last term.

Turner will now hope to speak to MacLean about a deal and he surely must be the favourite to join the Hillsborough club now rather than Taylor.

In other news yesterday, Lee Peacock sealed a two-year deal and was delighted to make the move north from Ashton Gate.

He said: "A few clubs were interested but I am actually over the moon to be here and I just can’t wait to get started. The gaffer’s brought in some new players, I don’t know if we will be playing a new system but everyone is here for a fresh start."

Midfielder Lewis McMahon and striker Jon Shaw both signed one-year extension deals yesterday after breaking into the team at the back end of last season.

McMahon will most likely start the season with Glenn Whelan being suspended for the first three games while Shaw will be happy to have his future settled after being linked with a loan move to Darlington.

Also, wingers Matt Hamshaw and Richard Evans signed month-to-month deals after impressing Turner with their fitness in the first team get together of the new campaign.

The duo were out for the majority of last season and will be looking for some good performances to get improved terms at S6.
