Preston Vs Wednesday: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday travel west to Preston North End on Saturday as they look to continue their fine form since Steve Bruce took charge.

The Owls are likely to be without midfielder Adam Reach as niggling injuries have left him in need of a rest and he may miss the last two games of the campaign. There could be better news for Kieran Lee however as he is in line to be included in the squad and could make his first appearance in 16 months.

Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has returned to training and he will be assessed ahead of the match having missed the last two matches, Sam Hutchinson's season could well be over due to a hamstring problem but Steven Fletcher and Liam Palmer could return having been rested for the last game.

Preston are likely to welcome back Ben Pearson with the midfielder having served a 3-match ban but fellow midfielder Ryan Ledson will miss out as he starts a 4-game ban following his dismissal in the defeat at Wigan last time out. Tom Barkhuizen, Tom Clarke, Andrew Hughes and Josh Harrop all remain out due to injuries.

North End are only 3 points behind the Owls in the Championship table but have lost 4 of their last 5 matches with the exception being a 4-0 victory against Ipswich in their last home game.

The home side have only lost once to Wednesday in their last 20 meetings at Deepdale, beating the Owls in 10 of those games but Wednesday did enjoy a 1-0 win against Preston when they last met at Hillsborough back in December.
