Scots chase Owls defender

Coughlan, who was taken off with concussion against Sunderland at the weekend, will be massively important to Wednesday for the rest of the season - especially if Madjid Bougherra gets sold.

But because of The Owls' lack of central defenders (Lee Bullen was the only fit one left after the Black Cats' defeat), Brian Laws will definitely want to keep lion heart star Coughlan at Hillsborough.

Meanwhile, the club have called an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on February 8th at 10:30 am at Hillsborough.

A statement on the club's official website reads: "The meeting has been convened under section 142 of the Companies Ace 1985, which states that consideration must be given to measures which might be taken in cases where the net assets of a public company are half or less of its called up capital.

"There has been no materiel in the company's finances since the club's accounts were discussed in considerable detail at the annual general meeting last November, and therefore the directors' view is that no additional measures should be taken at the current time."
