Sheffield Wednesday are pleased to announce the signing of central defender Charlotte Spencer from OHH Lincoln Ladies FC.

After joining the owls for training this week and impressing the staff. Spencer makes the switch from red and white stripes to blue and white stripes and she is the second player secured by the owls staff in alittle more than three weeks after Tanya Rich was lured away from doncaster belles to the owls.

Owls head coach Daniel duke stated " We again are delighted to bring in another very strong and experienced player, Charlotte is a great addition to our squad and she and Tanya Rich epitomize where this club is headed as they both have bags of quality and experience but most importantly they have a 1st class attitude.

"To add to girls we already have here we are now starting to build what we believe will certainly be a very successful football club in the not so distant future although we all know just how much hard work there is to be done before then we are fully prepared to put the work in."

The Owls ladies are currently battling in the lower reaches of Women's Premier Northern Division but do have games in hand on a couple of the teams above them. They are scheduled to face mid-table side Reading at home on Sunday and another mid-table team Aston Villa away the following week before key matches against fellow strugglers Preston and Tranmere.
