Stopper to stay at Hillsborough

Sheffield Wednesday announced today through the clubs' official website that goalkeeper Lee Grant has signed a new deal that will extend his stay at Hillsborough to 2012 with the option of a further year

Since coming to S6 from Derby two years ago Grant has improved after a shaky beginning with the club to establsh himself as one of the best keepers in the Coca Cola Championship.

Grant, who is one of several key players to be offered an improved contract by Wednesday is an ever-present this season and is closing in one 100 appearances for the club.

He has impressed fans and his colleagues alike during his time at Hillsborough and has been voted as the players' player of the year two seasons running.
