Striker switch at Hillsborough

Bartosz Slusarski has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan from West Bromwich Albion for the second time.

The Polish striker has failed to break into the Baggies first team this season and returns to Hillsborough where he played seven times on loan last season and scored once-a crucial goal in the vital win at Leicester City.

The deal is initially for one-month and comes on loan deadline day but should Slusarski impress during this spell then a permanent deal could be a possibility in the January transfer window.

Slusarski is expected to go straight into the squad to face Norwich City at Hillsborough on Saturday.

As Slusarski returns to Hillsborough Deon Burton departs for Charlton Athletic in a similar deal that could also become permanent in the New Year.

Burton got his first Owls goal of the season in the win at Blackpool on Tuesday evening but has looked somewhat out of sorts in most of his appearances so far this campaign and the move represents a new challenge for him as the struggling London outfit look to claw themselves away from the Championship relegation zone.
