Sturrock lined up

The Scotsman came south of the border from Dundee United to take control of Plymouth Argyle.

And three years into a ‘five-year plan’ to get The Pilgrims into the upper echelons of English football, he has secured successive promotions from the third to the second division, picking up a league title on the way up to the newly-named Championship.

Sturrock was sacked at Southampton, like Owls predecessor Chris Turner and did not really have time to do what he wanted on the south coast.

Long-term assistant Kevin Summerfield will be Sturrock’s right-hand man.
