Sturrock praises team in stalemate

The Owls have not scored in six games and despite coming close on a few occasions and hitting the back of the net still remains a massive problem.

Fortunately enough though for Wednesday, the defence is holding strong and opposition attackers are not getting any change at all from Frank Simek, Graham Coughlan, Richard Wood and Peter Gilbert.

Sturrock said after the game: “If you look at this game in isolation it was a good point. The boys were committed to the cause and the shape was very good but again it was the final thing that let us down.

“The back four have been excellent, a shining light. In midfield I thought Steve Adams wasn’t going to make it but he came in and did a job, Glenn Whelan did a solid job and Chris Eagles was disciplined in his approach – we saw a very good player because of it.”

Wednesday play Wolves tomorrow at Hillsborough – kick off is 7.45pm.
