Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay has been rewarded for his fine start to the season by picking up the first PFA fans player of the month award.

The front-man picked up the award twice last season before bagging the overall prize as fans player of the year for the Championship and after looking somewhat out of sorts in the first couple of games this seasons he has since found the form that made him a summer target for Premier League new boys Burnley.

The accolade, which is voted for by fans via the PFA's official website covers August and September, during which Tudgay has bagged five league goals in what has been a steady start to the season for the Owls.
