However, Wednesday allowed Derby back into the game and they hels a 2-1 advantage before Tony Crane grabbed a late equaliser to salvage a point for the Owls.
"I still see this as a point gained," said Turner after the game.
"We played well in the first half and I think it's fair to say there were a few decisions that mystified John Gregory and myself.
"We should have had a penalty and they should have had one when they were 2-1 up.
"We played well for long periods of the game and we didn't drop our heads and came back, but we gave away two goals when we were in command of the match."
