Turner 'disillusioned' at Grim defeat

An own goal by Brian Barry-Chuckle and a header from Tony Crane, something what all Owls fans before the game predicted, were enough to give Grimsby a 2-0 win in Cleethorpes.

Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu was sent off but Wednesday did not threaten The Mariners in the slightest, to the disappointment of Turner.

He said: “I’m disillusioned with the team. One week they are good the next they are bad.

“It is inconsistency and I apologise to the supporters who travelled to Grimsby as they didn’t get what they deserved.

“I feel really downbeat after this game as I am responsible because I’m the manager although I just wonder whether some of the players feel as bad as I do.

“The only positives I can take out of the game are the performances of Chris Brunt and Lewis McMahon who kept going and tried to make things happen.”
