Unbeaten Owls to face Premier League champions

Sheffield Wednesday have been rewarded for the victory against Burnley in the second round of the Capital One Cup with another trip to a Premier League club – champions Manchester City. The Owls won 1-0 at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening thanks to an Atdhe Nuhiu penalty in the second following an ill-timed tackle of Jeremy Helan.

City are the holders of the League Cup and have one of the most expensively assembled sides in the world. The two sides last met in the F.A. Cup in 2007 when Wednesday were narrowly beaten 2-1 away in a replay having held the Lancashire club to a 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

The tie will be held during the week commencing Monday 22nd September and no doubt the Wednesday supporters will eagerly snap up what is likely to be a good allocation of tickets.
