Canaries Vs Owls: Team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday travel to East Anglia on Saturday to face Norwich City in the teatime fixture live on Sky Sports.

Norwich have not won since beating Ipswich Town 8 games ago and while the Owls are unbeaten in 7 they have drawn 5 of those matches. Both teams would have harboured genuine ambitions of a promotion challenge this season but with close to half the season now played, the Owls are 8 points off the top 6 with the Canaries a further 3 points back.

The Owls will be without centre-back Tom Lees who faces 2 months on the sidelines where he joins Fernando Forestieri, George Boyd and Sam Hutchinson. Striker Steven Fletcher and full-back Jack Hunt face late fitness assessments while Atdhe Nuhiu will be hoping for a more prominent role having impressed as a substitute in 2 of the last 3 matches.

Norwich could include midfielder Alex Pritchard from the start for the first time this season after he made a substitute appearance in the defeat at Cardiff City last time out. The former Spurs youngster has been making his way back following ankle surgery. Alex Tettey, Matt Jarvis and Steven Naismith are unlikely to feature as they look to regain fitness following injury lay-offs.

Wednesday crushed Norwich 5-1 at Hillsborough when they met last season having drawn 0-0 at Carrow Road last August when Fernando Forestieri infamously chose not to travel with the squad for the game. The Owls have failed to score in 8 of their last 13 visits to Norfolk.
