Owls concede in closing stages again

Sheffield Wednesday produced a spirited display away to Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion but came away with nothing due to another late concession.

Wednesday started brightly at The Hawthorns but went behind against the run of play on 10 minutes when Robson-Kanu was given acres of space to run in on goal and beat Westwood with a calm finish. The goal rocked Wednesday back somewhat after their positive start and by half-time they were probably thankful for the break.

Garry Monk's side came out fighting in the 2nd half and this time found the goal that their play merited. Steven Fletcher scored from the penalty spot just before the hour mark after Krovinovic brought down Kieran Lee.

From that point on the Owls were on top and were unlucky not to take the lead when a Fox header hit the bar. For the 4th game in succession however Wednesday were hit by a late goal. Charlie Austin beat Westwood from the penalty spot after the keeper had fouled Pereira with just 2 minutes to go.

Liam Palmer saw red in stoppage time for a late foul to compound the Owls sorrow and the full-back will now serve a suspension. Next up for Wednesday is a home game against Birmingham City on Wednesday evening.
