Sheffield Wednesday host Bristol City at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening as they look to build on Saturday's 2-1 win over Wigan.

Midfielder David Jones is available for selection having served a one-match ban at the weekend and Carlos Carvalhal will be hopeful that influential playmaker Barry Bannan is fit after picking up a minor groin injury on Saturday.

Striker Gary Hooper will be hoping for a starting place after impressing as a second-half substitute against Wigan.

Hordor Magnusson and Callum O'Dowda picked up knocks in Bristol's 2-2 draw at Rotherham on Saturday but coach Lee Johnson is confident that both players will be available for selection. Midfielder Corey Smith may also be involved for the first time this season as he has fully recovered from an ankle injury.

Wednesday have won 2 and lost 1 at home this season but Saturday's victory was their first since the opening weekend of the season.

Bristol have had an encouraging start to their campaign with 3 wins and a draw from their first 6 games. Their only defeats so far have come against promotion hopefuls Newcastle and Norwich.

The Owls beat the Robins 2-0 at Hillsborough on the opening day of last season but were crushed 4-1 in the return fixture at Ashton Gate in April.

Wednesday have beaten City 16 times on home soil but prior to last seasons win they had failed to defeat the Robins in their last 5 meetings at S6.
