Rovers Vs Owls: team news & preview

Sheffield Wednesday take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park with the chance to record back-to-back wins in the Championship.

The Owls will be without right-back Ash Baker as the youngster is suspended so Liam Palmer is expected to come back into the side. Scotland striker Steven Fletcher was substituted in the first half against Bolton in midweek as he was suffering from dizziness. Adthe Nuhiu and Lucas Joao will come into consideration if Fletcher is not fit to feature. Matt Penney had an indifferent first half on Tuesday evening and was replaced at half-time by Fernando Forestieri.
Wednesday fans will be keen to see more of Forestieri but the forward looks short of match fitness following his return from a hamstring injury.

Blackburn will welcome Elliott Bennett back into the squad after he missed their midweek defeat at Wigan due to suspension. Centre-back Darragh Lenihan could return from a hip injury that saw him miss the Wigan game.

The home side have hit a poor run of form which has seen them defeated by near neighbours Preston and Wigan in their last two matches and they have only won one of their last six games.

Wednesday's 1-0 win against Bolton on Tuesday evening brought to an end a dismal six-match winless streak that had seen them pick up just one point.

The Owls won 1-0 the last time they visited Ewood Park thanks to a Steven Fletcher goal. They are currently 3 points behind Rovers in the Championship standings but a two-goal victory over their hosts would see them move above their hosts towards mid-table.
