Wednesday's injury woes worsen

Sheffield Wednesday's recent run of problems with injuries shows no sign of easing up with goalkeeper Chris Kirkland the latest player to need a spell on the sidelines.

The Owls have been without captain Anthony Gardner for most of the season but in the past few weeks players have been dropping like flies.

Midfield duo Jose Semedo and Kieran Lee, both of whome have been influential in the Owls good form under Stuart Gray are currently out injured as are left-backs Reda Johnson and Joe Mattock, centre-back Kamil Zayatte, midfielder David Prutton winger Michail Antonio and Kirkland missed the weekend defeat at Yeovil.

To make matters worse Sam Hutchinson, on loan from Chelsea, received a red card late on at Yeovil meaning he will serve a suspension that leaves Wednesday very short in midfield going into the away match at Wigan on Wednesday evening.
