Following the news that Sheffield Wednesday have parted company with head coach Stuart Gray this evening, the rumour mill will be in overdrive in respect of who may be chosen to succeed him in the hot seat.

Forums and social media sites will have an abundance of names to potentially put in the position, from the underwhelming to the outrageous and everyone in between.

Paper talk in recent days have linked the likes of former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson and ex-Owls defender Dan Petrescu though the latter is reported to have been appointed as the new manager of ASA Targu Mures, runners-up in the top flight in his native Romania last season.

More realistic names tipped to by in the frame according to early bookmakers odds include Mark Warburton who has done an exceptional job at Brentford over the past 2 seasons but has surprisingly been let go by the Bees and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. The former Chelsea striker has cut his managerial teeth in England with Burton Albion, leading them to the League Two title at the first attempt.
