Will contrite Forestieri return for Owls tonight?

Sheffield Wednesday make the short trip to Burton Albion tonight as the two teams face each other in a competitive fixture for the first time in their history.

The big talking point this week for Wednesday has been the future of Fernando Forestieri. The forward drew the wrath of the Wednesday faithful at the weekend when it was revealed he refused to travel to face Norwich City but he has since apologised to club staff and fans and he has boarded the bus for this evenings game.

Steven Fletcher showed no ill-effects to his head wound when making a substitute appearance against the Canaries and he could return to the starting 11. Burnley midfielder David Jones joined the Owls on a 3-year-contract today but the deal was completed in time for him to feature against the Brewers.

Burton Albion, managed by former Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough, may go with the same squad that were beaten by a late goal from Bristol City at the weekend. Ex-Owls striker Chris O'Grady is expected to line up against his formers employers and former Wednesday keeper Stephen Bywater is likely to be on the bench for the home side.

Midfielder Hamza Choudhury could be in line for a return to the starting 11.

Wednesday will be hoping to build on the encouraging start they have made which has seen them pick up 4 points from 2 tough opening fixtures.

Burton have had an eventful start to their first ever season in the 2nd tier, losing 4-3 to near neighbours Nottingham Forest on the opening day and conceding a late goal to lose 2-1 at home to Bristol City on Saturday. They have enjoyed a victory in the League Cup against Bury and their reward for that is a home tie against Liverpool in the next round.
