Proudlock joins defender Garry Monk, who joined on a loan deal from Southampton and both go straight into the squad for Saturday's home match against Gillingham.
"I'm delighted to get the new players in," said manager Chris Turner. "We need fresh faces to give everybody a lift, and we need stronger competition for places.
"We've been working on something all week, though, and with Adam coming in at the last minute he'll be on the bench to start with."
Turner is also hoping to conclude the loan signing of Wolves striker Michael Branch next week.
